Educational Forum & Public Meetings on Lower Duwamish Waterway Cleanup Plan Meetings' Video recordings

The Lower Duwamish Waterway Superfund Site is a five mile stretch of the Duwamish River that flows into Elliott Bay.  The public comment period for the EPA cleanup plan is open until June 13th,  2013.  Additional details can be found on the EPA Region 10 and Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition's (DRCC) websites to learn about the cleanup plan or planned public meetings in May 2013.

Duwamish River Superfund Cleanup Educational Forum:

The Educational Forum was held at the Allen Library Research Commons at University of Washington, Seattle, WA on April 29th, 2013.   Kelly Edwards, PhD, Professor of Bioethics and Humanities moderated the Educational Forum.

This event was hosted by University of Washington NIEHS-Center for Ecogenetics and Environmental Health (CEEH) and was supported in part by the NIEHS UW-Superfund Research ProgramThe recordings are divided into seven segments (Welcome, Introduction, Presentations: EPA, Washington State Department of Ecology, the LDWG, DRCC/TAG and Q&A).

Duwamish Waterway Proposed Plan Public Meetings

US EPA Region 10 and Washington State Department of Ecology hosted the Proposed Plan Meetings and Comment Opportunities for Lower Duwamish Superfund Cleanup Proposed Plan Meetings on April 30, 2013 in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle. Part 1 includes presentations by EPA, EPA Environmental Justice staff and the Washington State Department of Ecology. Part 2 includes a presentation by Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition/Technical Advisory Group (DRCC/TAG), and public comments.

Duwamish Waterway Proposed Plan Public Meeting (en Español)

US EPA Region 10 and Washington State Department of Ecology hosted the Proposed Plan Meetings and Comment Opportunities for Lower Duwamish Superfund Cleanup Proposed Plan Meetings on May 15th, 2013 in Seattle. Part 1 includes presentations by EPA, EPA Environmental Justice staff and the Washington State Department of Ecology. Part 2 includes a Q&A. Part 3 includes presentation by Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition/Technical Advisory Group (DRCC/TAG).  

Region 10 EPA arranged that one of the four formal Lower Duwamish Waterway Public Meetings on the EPA Cleanup Proposal to be held in Spanish. At this meeting English translation was made available to audience that required this on headsets.
